back in the game

After some months off the blogging scene, I'm back... with some projects to show too.

My creative life has not subsided over the past year. In fact, I've been trying to rework my priorities and get cracking on some creative directions I've always wanted to follow, like my writing. I'm thrilled to get back into it, also with the help of a Short Fiction writing course I'm doing here at the local uni.

My short story was due on Wednesday and I finished it with time to spare (hooray!) and I'm looking forward to its dissection next week at class (we all take turns to workshop our work). I'm not sure how the response is going to be to my story since, oh well, I wrote about something more fantasy than the human-interest stories my classmates have been churning out. I'm hoping it's ok. I'll let you know next Wednesday.

So on to the goodstuff.

I've recently won a random draw for playing along with the Cocoa Daisy Mid-Month Challenge. This challenge was to use tone-on-tone in a layout and I did dual tone-on-tone so two colours - red and black contrasts.

Really like the way it looks and usually I'm very stingy with using my rub-ons but I thought it was really worth it for this layout. Gave it a real 'touch'..

I won $20 for just taking part and I'm thrilled! More stuff to get from their next kit.. which promises to be lovely. I've seen the sneak peak .

Anyway, I'm off to go try out stuff for the May Challenge.. I'm sure having fun being part of this great gang of gals!
